Happyland wins NGDC in Athens

Update! We’ve created a special developer profile video to showcase Happyland Entertainment, NGDC qualifier winner at the Athens Games Festival in Greece. Check out the video below!

The NGDC qualifier in Greece was held at the very first edition of the Athens Games Festival. On 28 October, five contestants went on stage in the main auditorium of HELEXPO, pitching their game projects in front of an enthusiastic live audience and a select panel of experts.

After the session, the panel consisting of Visual Arts CEO Nizar Romdahne, Mario Valle Reyes of Altered Ventures, educational game expert Tsahi Lieberman, Sabrina Carmona from King and Anastasios Katopodis from Wargaming gathered to discuss and select the best pitch.

As a special sponsor for the NGDC in Athens, Amazon App Store provided prizes for the three finalists in the form of a Fire Tablet for each of them. And the winners were:

Third place: Monsters presenting Apocalypse Cow
Second place: Ascanio Entertainment presenting Crash Force

And the winner chosen for a seat in the NGDC finals at NG18 in Malmö next May was… Happyland Entertainment with their game Go Heroes: Prometheus!

Nordic Game’s Jacob Riis and the expert panel in Athens congratulating Happyland Entertainment.

Big congratulations to Happyland Entertainment and see you at the NGDC finals next year! Also, a warm thank you to the organisers of Athens Games Festival for a great event, and Amazon App Store for their prizes 🙂

About Appodeal
Appodeal was founded by app publishers for app publishers. Appodeal was originally created in 2011 as an in-house ad mediation solution for Alfa Production, a mobile apps publishing company with a monthly audience of 4M active users across all apps.

After experimenting with most of the ad networks, mediators, and app monetization tools on the market to monetize Alfa’s apps, founder & CEO Pavel Golubev was surprised to learn their in-house publisher-centric ad mediation platform actually performed the best — increasing their apps’ ad revenue by an impressive ~270{70f9b6485a4a0b5182adc02e09431fa1662fa095cb89895527585e52421b3754}.

Golubev then realized that all mobile ad tools simply put the advertisers’ interests first, not the publishers. As a result, he decided to launch Appodeal to the public in 2015 — bringing the power back to the mobile app publishers.

Thanks to its innovative publisher-centric ad marketplace where ad networks compete against each other in real-time for every ad impression, Appodeal has significantly increased ad revenue for app publishers and has been growing rapidly ever since.
